Battling Björk just misses out on Argentina points
Tough week-end for Volvo
Thed Björk came within a tenth of a second of scoring a point in the Opening Race at FIA WTCC Race of Argentina today after contact led to a spin on the first lap and dropped him to the back of the pack.
Driving a Volvo S60 Polestar TC1 for Polestar Cyan Racing, Björk completed lap one in P18 but fought back to P11 at the finish. However, the battling performance masked a frustrating weekend for the multiple Scandinavian Touring Car champion.
“Our performance in the first race was really good,” Björk explained. “But if you get behind like we did in terms of set-up, it just isn’t enough in a world championship and I struggled in the second race where I just couldn’t get past. We didn’t achieve the results we hoped for but we gained valuable data that is very important for when we can start to test properly between races.”
