Tarquini : Lada can be faster
The russian manufacturer can make progress
LADA should be back on top form when the FIA World Touring Car Championship resumes in Japan next month.
After a tough trip to Argentina at the start of August, factory driver Gabriele Tarquini expects a more potent showing from the Russian make at Twin Ring Motegi from 2-4 September.
“We were better than our results really showed [in Argentina], we had a bad qualifying and that put us to the back and from their it’s always hard,” Tarquini said. “We probably had the pace for the top 10, okay not to fight for a podium this time but better than we showed.”
Former LADA driver Rob Huff scored a podium in Japan last season, taking his Rosneft-backed Vesta to third in the second race of the weekend.
