Valente hopes for more LADA WTCC action
He wants to keep going with the team
Hugo Valente used the pre-event press conference for WTCC Race of China last month to outline his hopes of continuing with the factory LADA team in 2017.
Valente joined the ROSNEFT-backed Russian make for this year’s FIA World Touring Car Championship having impressed as a privateer racing in the WTCC Trophy.
While 2016 has yet to deliver the breakthrough victory Valente has craved, the French youngster has finished in the top five on three occasions.
“So far it’s been a bit disappointing for me compared to the last two seasons,” said Valente. “But from my side I hope to be with LADA again next year.”
Valente will join LADA team-mates Nicky Catsburg and Gabriele Tarquini for the season-closing WTCC Race of Qatar at the Losail International Circuit from 24-25 November.
