Björk: Happy to be fighting again in the WTCC
"I am happy with the outcome of the weekend"
Thed Björk headed home from Portugal with 14 FIA World Touring Car Championship points after two “fighting performances” on the streets of Vila Real.
Polestar Cyan Racing’s multiple Scandinavian Touring Car champion placed seventh in the Opening Race before bringing his Volvo S60 Polestar TC1 home in sixth position in the Main Race. Earlier, Björk had narrowly missed out on a slot in the DHL pole position shootout with the sixth fastest time in Qualifying Q2.
“I am happy with the outcome of the weekend in terms of the work we have done with the car and that I was able to fight with the drivers around me from my qualifying positions,” said Björk, currently P12 in the WTCC Drivers’ standings.
