Breen returns to WRC action

Former Super 2000 World Champion, Craig Breen, has announced that he will return to the driving seat of a Ford Fiesta RS WRC in Finland and Germany.

The Peugeot Rally Academy driver got his first taste of WR Car machinery at February’s Rally Sweden when he drove a Kel-Tech Engineering Fiesta to ninth place.

Since then, Breen has been working hard to secure further WR Car outings and he has now confirmed visits to the daunting gravel stages of Neste Rally Finland (31 July-3 August) and the fast asphalt of ADAC Rallye Deutschland (21-24 August).

Breen has previous experience at both events, having driven R2 and S2000 cars in Finland and won in Germany during his championship-winning season in the 2011 WRC Academy.

The 20-year-old will team up with co-driver Scott Martin for both events.

“Firstly, I am very grateful to Peugeot Sport for once again allowing me to compete on these two very different events outside the ERC,” he said.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to challenge myself at the top level of the sport again and this time with two consecutive events I feel we can show some real pace.”
